A Short Update as of April 14, 08
It seems They had to install some more “Boxes” (go figure!) that has decreased the load to some degree but we still experience a lag time, this may be due to normal heavy web usage. Their transition period is over so I hope for even better service as they have promised. I have moved two sites from their hosting service and will evaluate whether or not to move each one as their service period comes to an end. I moved the other sites to Hostican.com I had found a good reference to sign up from Wordpress. org.
Here is a link to sign up with Hostican.

I highly recommend them –so far their Hosting service and DataBase speeds are very satisfactory. My WordPress install for one of my moved sites worked with out a hitch! I also have found their Customer service very helpful. They even called me back to correct some settings that I had requested and this was in the evening after 5pm!

This article and movie (Download the movie, size = 28.1mb) is about the problem with iPower Hosting and it’s hosting of Word Press sites–
it’s configuration and database speeds are so slow —and I have turned in multiple complaints about how slow all the sites load in and their support team does not seem to “get it” They say they have checked it and it seems to run just fine.
So this movie is a real time record of how long it takes to load –both from the viewers point of view and from the web master’s point of view.
The task here was to go view the site just look at a few of the pages then Log in and make some simple edits and get out.
I know I would be able to do this faster on any other host and that is why I am making this video so that iPower will be able to experience what I go through every time I need to either update a page myself or teach my web owner how to do it. It is infuriating to see how much of my time is wasted on this ordeal.
In the past iPower was a great host –their support was great and their technicians were on the ball but now the Phones are always busy I can never get a real person to talk to and when I do they are unable to help, wasting again my time, and they have been rude way too anxious to get me off the line. I went through their Chat and was waiting in the cue for 3.5 hours before I got someone to answer yes 3.5 hours! It was 3:30 in the morning I had started to wait around 12 midnight
I have written numerous (tickets) letters to complain and I get lame questions and statements like: be sure you use the right log in User name and password! Give me a break!
I am hoping that this video will show at least on this side of the fence what is wrong. I do not wish to move my sites from iPower from purely a selfish motive, I know it will take hours and hours to rebuild each and every site onto a new server and I know my clients can not afford to pay me to do it. I am tempted to sue ipower for the time unpaid that I have had to spend on this project as well as all the wasted time I have spent on trying to just keep up with my work load with this kind of lack of speed on the sites I am trying to work on and finish. It is sad to think I would have to rebuild all my sites again on a different server/host when perhaps with the right amount of help from iPower I could get it fixed.
The name of the sites that are affected (that I am the web master of):
all hosted by iPower:
http://www.denverapplepi.com
http://www.geekstreetstudios.com (my own)
http://www.mandmlimousines.net
http://www.holidayautocare.com
all of these are WordPress sites
I did not wish to make a painful video of each of these sites but this is a good representation of what I am dealing with. I appreciate any input that would help. Thank you.
